Ellie is a solicitor in the Childcare and Family Law department working under the supervision of Debbie Richards.
The family team has extensive expertise in Children Act cases, representing parents, grandparents and children through their Cafcass guardians.
Ellie’s supervising partner is a member of the Law Society Children Panel and a solicitor with over twenty years’ experience in the legal profession, meaning Ellie has assisted on numerous complex and notable cases. With the family team having extensive advocacy experience, Ellie has been able to observe clients being represented by the firm in all courts.
The department also deals extensively with divorce matters, to include complex high-value cases and cases involving domestic abuse. Ellie has also had the opportunity to work in other aspects of child law, including non-accidental injury and neglect cases, in particular a case considered by the High Court to be one of the most extreme it had ever encountered.

Career
Joined Hutchinson Thomas in October 2018 as a paralegal following completion of the Legal Practice Course and a Master’s degree.
Ellie qualified as a solicitor in April 2021.

Outside of work Ellie enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and travelling abroad.
