Fundraising ‘Wear Red’ day for Velindre Cancer Charity

We are proud to have raised £443 to help Velindre Cancer Charity provide specialist treatment and supportive care to cancer patients and their families.

Our team raised the funds through a raffle, baking cakes and by wearing red for Wales and Velindre on Friday, February 3, 2023.

Velindre is recognised as ‘The Hospital of Hope’ and has been providing gold standard treatment and support to cancer patients for over 65 years. It is Wales’ premier cancer centre and the leading provider of radiotherapy and other specialised anti-cancer treatments in Wales. The centre currently treats over 5,000 new referrals and around 50,000 outpatients every year.

All the money raised for Velindre Cancer Charity helps fund ground-breaking research and clinical trials, cutting edge treatments, specialist nurses, support services, therapies, equipment and much more.

The charity provides its services, roles and resources above and beyond those provided by the NHS, meaning that all donations have a significant positive impact on the experience and treatment journey of the patients and families that the charity supports.

With cancer now affecting one in two people in Wales, and the COVID pandemic still placing strain on its cancer services, the charity needs to raise more money than ever before to help cancer patients and their families get the treatment, resources, care and support they need.
