Hutchinson Thomas recently attended Estate Capital’s 11th Annual Croquet Day on July 20th at the Mansion House, Swansea. The 12 businesses that attended accumulated £2,110 in donations for the Lord Mayor’s charities of choice, which include:
- Maggies Cancer Centre Swansea
- West Glamorgan Youth Theatre Swansea
- Eastside Foodbank
- YMCA Young Carers Service
This is a huge leap from the £1,340 that was raised for the event last year. The Annual Croquet Day has been hosted by Estate Capital every July since 2006 and is played between teams representing local professional services firms.
Hutchinson Thomas has a strong tradition in supporting charities and last year two of it’s staff completed the London Marathon raising more than £6,000 for the Shaw Trust, a national charity that provides employment opportunities, skills development training and health and well-being services across the UK.
Darren Davies, a Partner at Hutchinson Thomas who took part in the croquet match, said:
“It’s really great to have opportunities like this where we can go out and have fun as a team whilst also doing our bit for those needing support in our communities. We’re all grateful to Estate Capital for setting up this event and keeping it going every year – next time we’re bringing our a-game!”
Hutchinson Thomas was the first law firm in Wales to achieve the Law Society mark of excellence and in 2017, was named the best firm for family law in South and Mid Wales, as well as being recommended in a further six areas of law in the Legal 500.
The company, which currently employs 61 people, was founded with the aim of combining the reassurance offered by traditional family solicitor, along with a forward-thinking approach to business development.
