The Role
Hutchinson Thomas is offering the exciting opportunity of a training contract within our Firm. During the training contract, the successful candidate will be provided with expert training and experience in various areas of law and practice, as well as a broad overview of the functioning of the office.
The Trainee Solicitor will be allocated to our Commercial Corporate department and will be based in our Neath Office.
Receiving a competitive annual salary in accordance with the SRA recommended salary levels, the Firm will also cover the cost of the Professional Skills Course and any other relevant training courses. Hutchinson Thomas has an excellent background in supporting our employees’ development; we will discuss employment opportunities with the successful Trainee Solicitor towards the end of their training contract.
As a Trainee Solicitor in the Commercial Corporate department, you will undergo a two-year training contract or SQE, gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of commercial and corporate law. You will work closely with our operations partner, assisting with legal research, drafting documents, and attending client meetings. This role is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to qualify as a solicitor.
Responsibilities
- Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research on various commercial and corporate law topics.
- Document Drafting: Draft and proofread legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and corporate resolutions.
- Client Interaction: Attend client meetings, take detailed notes, and assist in providing legal advice.
- Case Management: Assist in managing case files, preparing trial bundles, and ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
- Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
- Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and organizing documents.
